Who Borey is
Borey is the air-defence division of the Burevii Brigade. Our mission is to protect people and units from aerial threats.
Borey is the air-defence division of the First Presidential Operational Brigade named after Hetman Petro Doroshenko, “Burevii”. The brigade belongs to the 1st Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine, “Azov”.
The division covers personnel, equipment and critical sites from aerial attack. It watches the air picture, detects threats, tracks targets and destroys them.
Borey is built on people, discipline and technology. Every decision joins crews, operators, signals specialists, technicians and the command post.

History of the Burevii Brigade
The brigade’s path began in 1994. Over three decades the unit grew from an Internal Troops formation into a modern combat brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine.

1994–2014
Origins
In spring 1994 military unit 3027 was formed. After the Internal Troops were reorganised in 2014, the unit became the core of the First Operational Brigade of the NGU.
2014–2024
The great war
In the first hours of the full-scale invasion, brigade units stood in the defence of Kyiv. After the capital they fought on other axes. In 2022 the brigade received the honourable name “Burevii”, and in 2024 the name of Hetman Petro Doroshenko.
2025–today
A new stage
In 2025 Burevii joined the 1st NGU Corps “Azov”. New units are being formed, and experience and coordination across the formation are growing.
In spring 1994 military unit 3027 was formed. After the Internal Troops were reorganised in 2014, the unit became the core of the First Operational Brigade of the NGU.
A brigade that acts as one mechanism
Combat Burevii brings together infantry, artillery, reconnaissance, unmanned systems, sappers, medics, signals, engineers and rear services. Air defence is one arm of that system.
The result is decided by people, information and machines working together.
